Values

We Value People

People are God’s passion and heartbeat. He is head-over-heels in love with each and every person. Because of this He desires to have an intimate relationship with each individual through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. And you know what is really cool? God loves people for what they are, where they are, no matter who they are.

Because of this, people should matter to us and we must be willing to do what is necessary to meet people where they are. Once we meet them there, then we can show them where God is and what He would have them to be. Anytime a program or a rule keeps us from loving people, it must be changed!

We Value Relevance

One of the greatest challenges we face today is the desire to change or embrace new ideas and engage our culture. Jesus was the most relevant person to walk this planet. His constant challenge on the rigorous religion of the day to become more relevant in their relationships is unparalleled. Jesus set the standard of making sure His first miracle was performed to make sure the party didn’t die. We want to make sure that all we do at The Summit are relevant to the times we live in and to the people with which we come in contact.

We Value Servants

Jesus loved people by serving them and meeting the needs they had…spiritually, physically and emotionally. The Summit wants to do the same! Jesus taught that the greatest people in His Father’s kingdom are those who serve first. A servant’s heart is imperative if are to make a difference in Seymour and its surrounding communities. We can ensure that The Summit develops and maintains a servant’s heart by modeling, training, and empowering people to use their talents and gifts in creative ways for the good of the community and the Kingdom of God.

We Value a Team

Jesus was not just a great leader He was also an amazing coach. He took a team of 12 very different individuals with various backgrounds, personalities, strengths and weaknesses and led them to change the world! Together they did much more than they ever would have accomplished as individuals. Together, we can impact Seymour in a positive way they will never forget. It’s important to learn how each one of us is wired, explore how God has gifted us and then learn how we can become better at what we do. Together we can impact our community, affect our country and change the world!

We Value Risk-Taking

As we have grown and God’s vision has become more clear, we have developed this very distinct fifth value. Faith cannot be realized until we are first willing to take a risk.  At the Summit, risk is expected.
